Just to clear up any misconceptions..
(This info comes from Brad Peebler, LW product manager at NewTek)
There is only 1 version of LightWave for Intel processors. When you
install, you will be asked if you are running under Windows (and
therefore need Win32s) or NT. Win32s will be installed if running under
normal Windows.
Perhaps there may have been some confusion about wether the user wanted
the Alpha version or the Intel version.
BTW, NewTek doesn't take direct orders, only upgrades....
